We have created 64 presets for the Waldorf Microwave 1 synthesizer. This hybrid wavetable synthesizer, with its analog filters, is a direct descendant of the famous PPG Wave 2.3. Both the Wave 2.3 and the Microwave 1 make use of wavetables, a new technology at the time that uses sampled waveforms through which the user can scroll through in real time, producing special sounds. Although released back in 1989 its rich feature set and complex sound makes it a very competitive and capable synth even today.
Unlike the PPG Wave 2.3, the Waldorf Microwave 1 suffered from the same issue as many late 80's synths….the lack of rotary knobs, making programming this advanced hybrid synthesizer quite difficult.
Sonic Freaks has created this fantastic collection of presets to take full advantage of the advanced and unique features of the Waldorf Microwave 1. In this presets collection you will find Dreamy Pads, Evolving Textures, Ambient Strings, Crystal Clear Bells, Thick Basses and Sweet Leads and much more. The presets are contemporary and vintage at the same time. They are very suitable for all kinds of (electronic) music
The collection includes 64 presets to revitalise your Waldorf Microwave 1 and get inspired to make great music.

No because the 2.0 OS is a very big upgrade. One of the biggest upgrades is the additional wavetables. This preset library uses those wavetables so the presets would not work correctly.
Yes however they will sound a bit different.
No we did not include any multi programs. However you can use the presets to create your own multi-programs to make even thicker, fatter and larger sounds.
Yes. There are a few userwaves included. So make sure you make a backup of all your settings including your user waves. Please check the owners manual on how to do this!
Sonic Freaks is in no way affiliated with Waldorf Music.
